What Is Happening?

The VIN Override dialog no longer shows when a VIN cannot be found in the system.

Why Is This Happening?

We are updating our platforms with an enhanced VIN decoding mechanism that eliminates the need to provide the previous VIN Override display.

Why Are We Upgrading?

In the past, if a VIN was improperly or not entirely decoded, a window would display on the screen offering to enter vehicle specific information for classification and rating purposes. This allowed the rating and contracting to continue, but often resulted in errors downstream. This is no longer needed due to the internally enhanced VIN decoding functionality.

In the rare case that a vehicle does not properly classify, please reach out to our support so we can address it. If it occurs, this would most commonly happen for new year models that may not be in the database yet and thus will need to be added.
